Integration of youth into climate policies is an initiative of Mreža mladih Crne Gore aimed at creating space for young people to be active participants in shaping climate policies, not just a generation that will live with the consequences of decisions made today.
Through this process, MMCG brought together youth, youth and green organizations, institutions, and international partners around a common goal — to systematically include the youth perspective in decision-making on climate change, the green agenda, and sustainable development.
The initiative began with the kick-off event "Integration of youth into climate policies", which opened the conversation about the role of youth in climate processes and the need for their voice to be recognized in public policies.
An important part of the process was also training for the initial board of the Youth Climate Council, through which young people were further empowered to understand climate policies, participate in dialogue with institutions, and contribute to the development of a participatory mechanism for youth inclusion in the field of climate change.
The process was concluded with the closing conference "Institutionalization of youth participation in climate policy", held at the European House on October 17, 2025. The conference presented steps towards the establishment of the Youth Climate Council and featured an open panel discussion on youth participation in climate policies.
